@kadian1364: That's why losers like me habitually reread the source before the corresponding movie... and also reread the previous book ahead of the next one's debut. I haven't gotten into the habit of rewatching the previous movie ahead of the next's release, but that's mostly because most of the movies haven't given me a reason to want to. As for the last book, I have too much to say about it, but the short version is that it was much better than I expected it to be so I didn't complain.

@Omisyth: Agreed. I really want to know what the point of the Burrow/wheat field scene was. I can understand cutting Dumbledore's funeral in the sense that it isn't particularly necessary to move along the story (especially since Scrimgeour is cut out entirely), but I would have gladly exchanged the Burrow nonsense for the funeral to make the death not seem as arbitrary as it did.

The directing was just awful at times. Awkward transitions and unecessary scenes were everywhere, and so many shots just lingered for no apparent reason. Waste of time. Horcrux scene was nice though.

Also, WHY DID THEY CUT OUT DUMBLEDORE'S FUNERAL!? AWESOME SCENE.

To be honest, with so many books and movies, often being released years apart, the event of the both mediums kind of swim together in my head and I can't distinguish what happened when and in what version. Therefore, any holes in the films always get filled in by my memory of stuff in the books, and I'm none the wiser.

Order of the Phoenix is my high mark for the series in both the books and the films. I've yet to see the latest film, but the last two books just kind of left me feeling empty, especially the final book which hardly moved me at all. It was like Rowling was going down this checklist of stuff that has to happen, and the surprise and wonder of this magical world she built over the years gets lost under an ordinary good vs. bad story.
